OK, to start this thing off, I need to define first what actually needs to happen. It seems to be a very difficult undertaking at this point, but I’ve always felt if you don’t dream big there’s no point in dreaming. I may be a little rusty in film production, and this is going to take a lot more coordination than a normal feature, but what is that overused saying “How do you eat an elephant? . . . “

Right, so the project has several aspects:

1) Physical space – I will need to locate someplace to set this up and present. I’m thinking Williamsburg, Bklyn, but I’d be willing to work with anything that makes sense demographically and budget-wise. I would even consider Providence, RI if I could find something close enough to the boston commuter train stop.

2) legal permits / business identity – If I’m going to have food and/or drinks, I need to consider this. possibly I will have to bring someone on board with restaurant experience

3) World layout – this will actually be necessary before the story, since the interaction between the various spaces is to have a big impact on the experience

4) Script – I’ve got virtually a blank slate here…

5) Talent – I really dislike casting and directing, so I may bring in some help on this one. I’ve got a couple people in mind, but I won’t put any names down until I’m sure.

6) Normal film production aspects – locations, set design, lighting, cameras, equipment rental, editing, etc…

7) Financial modeling – Yes it is an art piece, but it needs to pay for itself.

8 ) Marketing – This is really the most fun aspect to me, but I’ve got to be careful not to get ahead of myself.

With that defined, there is nothing left but to do it. I will update status along the lines of these 8 categories and hopefully we will start to see something coalesce.
